A few weeks ago I looked out my window, my apt is on the 6th floor, and saw this Great Spotted Woodpecker sitting in the tree outside. Having chased some of these around the woods with no luck getting close and although the light was not so good I got a couple of shots.
1 I'm sure he was keeping his eye on me
2 Double checking over his shoulder
3 Then along came this little Bluetit who did not want to be left out of things, but this is fairly heavily cropped
Hi Martin
Never missing an opportunity I see. That blue-tit is a beautiful bird. I don't think that shooting through the window glass was helping you but the shots are nice The weather looked a bit dreary in a few but I would love to see you get some great shots of that bird.

Take care Martin!

Hi Karl,
I did actually open the window first, maybe I should have kept mum on this if the shots seem otherwise, but you are right, the weather was not so good and the light was going down rapidly. Will try and nail one good one of the Bluetit just for you
Cheers,
Martin

Martin, wow, I would love to look out my window and see that! You can bet I would be taking pictures through it all the time. Love the 1st woodie!!

Hi Tim,
Usually its woodpigeons that roost in this tree and the woodpecker is a rare visitor.
I was lucky to get it this time.
Martin
not too bad to find these outside your window. I used to see Bluetits at home in Sweden, but not here.....
# 2 & 3 are my favorites. Now that you've found them.... Be ready for them.

The bluetits used to nest on our balcony inside the shutter blind box but I wasn't taking photos back then. Maybe they will come back.
Might buy some seed and see if that would entice them.
Thanks for the picks.

You're lucky Martin...you don't wanna know what I see when I look out my window
Cute burds out of the window...specially that tit
Hi Nello,
Yes I'm lucky that I have a nice view all right and now with the 500 I can finally reach the birdies in the tree and with the leaves gone you can see them too.
Cheers,
Martin
That's a very respectable haul for a window shoot Martin.
From my window I can only shoot our neigbour which I have been tempted to do a few times in the past few years.

Thanks PetKal, as for shoooting your neighbour, maybe you had better keep resisting the temption or you might get a more restrictive window with lots of bars
