My brother asked what I wanted for Christmas. He'll probably spend about $75. I'm trying to come up with a photography related present. I don't need memory cards which would've been a good one.
You can use the body cover with a strap attached, it just sort of sticks out the front. I use body covers and snoot boots to cover my gear when it's otherwise more-or-less loose in my backpack - it works great. I take the covers off when I bring the gear out to use.
jcolwell, I didn't realize you could use it with a strap. It looks like a great way to protect your body without having to carry it in a bag.
I found another pretty cool gadget, it's the Kirk Omnipod. It's a small pad, maybe 4-5" by about 8" with a arca-swiss type clamp on it. You can use it to rest your long lens on while shooting, ie, out a car window, leanding on a fence, etc.
dennis, I wouldn't use the camera straps to carry the body over my shoulder while the body cover is on it, as it would tend to peel off the cover. I meant that you can put the cover on the body while the straps are still attached, and then store it away. You can get a soft camera/lens case that lets you use straps while it's on the camera: http://www.optechusa.com/product/detail/?PRODUCT_ID=32&PRODUCT_SUB_ID=
