This subject came to our camera club meeting to pose for us. He was hoping to use some of the images in his business as headshots, and other promotional things. Please let me know what you think of this shot. I am not a pro but would like your thoughts, tell it like it is.
There was a black paper back drop and some lights on stands that were constantly on not strobes. I used a D40 with the 18-55 Kit lens.
Thanks for taking the time to help J. I think i can maybe work on the crop and orange, bored I will have to keep in mind for the next time I shoot one of these.
1- Color balance-his skin is very orange.
2- He is flat footed-dropping his weight to his back foot will drop the far shoulder, making it more of a diagonal and he'll look less stiff.
3- His head is tipped in an S curve position. This is strictly a feminine position. Slightly tipping his head the other way to create a C curve would make him look more masculine and confident.
Thanks Jubba I appreciate you taking the time to give me your thoughts and ways to fix the issues with this photo. I have included a edited photo below to see if the crop is better and the color issue I tried to fix as well not to good at LR yet though.
I like the color better in the second photo, but not so sure about the crop. I think the coat has more value staying in the shot than out of it. Just MHO.
