p.1 #1 · Padres Petco Opening day 2004

update 8/27/2009:
It has been a while, but I finally got back to this project. I have since reworked it, changed a few things.
- making sure Gwynn was in the jumbo tron
- adjusting to make sure the first pitch was also shown w/ Jimmy Carter.

Below is an updated photo.

Also, it will be printed 6'x3', instead of the 8'x4'. It will be mounted to 3/4" gator foam.

I plan on moving a little towards getting a pano head (gigapan epic 100) and playing around with it, see how I like it.

Thanks for viewing.

With all respect, and I'm no better at this (see my recent post asking for help), many of the shots don't really line up. Is this part of the design? The overall layout is well conceived, and this will certainly be an interesting poster / mural. But the flag and the players on the right field line come to mind as parts that maybe should be better aligned. Just my .02

yes, the lines and imperfections are part of the overall collage design.

I like it. I agree they don't line up, but I think it adds to it a lot. I would change the grey though... Its sort of a bland grey, but not really backgroundish... Maybe white?

for web, i typically do black; however, the printing company recommended a natural color from the actual image, i just kinda picked a grey from the clouds to mesh a little.

but i agree, the grey has bothered me, and i will play with it before going to the printer after thanksgiving.

I like this a lot and agree that the grey is not quite right. Perhaps a darker grey. It would still be neutral and show the edge of the sky better.

Cool concept, and a great gift.

Unless its impossible / screws up the printing, I would think black would be a much more dramatic color, with white lettering. Having anything remotely light washes the whole thing out and steals from the presentation.
Of course, just my opinion. Nice job.

It's a very unique way to approach a panorama. I know not everyone is going to like it, but I have to say that I appreciate the idea. I prefer the first one you posted of the two. I would be kind of curious to see how this would look printed out.
