I just got a 80-200 AF-S for 700...although I haven't seen what it looks like, but fingers crossed. I could have paid less, but I didn't want to be outbid
I've gotten some good ones in the past too! I bought a D50, mint 60mm micro, macro flash, 18-55 kit lens all for $350, and two Alien Bees B400s for $200.

That's kinda what I'm thinking. If I can swing $450 for the D80 (which should be no problem) and the $500 for the 18-200mm, the cost of the D300 net to me will be $750. I can deal with that, but we'll see.

+1 to Mike Yam. I would keep the D300 and 80-200. Pick up a tokina 11-16 and you'll be grooving. (I find all my good shots are outside of the standard zoom range (24-70).
I'm looking forward to picking up a D300 and the 80-200. Post some images when you get them!
You guys are confusing the 3 different AF 80-200/2.8's. There is the push/pull AF-D version which is what Taylor got, those go for $400 any day of the week, so yeah $320 is a nice deal...
There is also a later AF-D version (~$550=600) that is not push/pull and there is the AF-S version (~$1000). $700 on the AF-S version is an absolute steal...
