A local team of photographers is putting together a website and they are trying to pick an image from among their own submissions that will grace the opening page of the website. Inside the website, each photographer will have his/her own gallery of images and a link to their own website. The cover photo will not give accreditation to anyone. Please review this gallery and vote for the one image you think is most likely to have the impact necessary to spark a viewer’s interest to stay and have a look around. Pay no attention to the actual image names; vote only based on the number generated by the web gallery; i.e. 1-22.
I'm alone on 17 Steve..I wasn't sure if this was a site that a bride would be visiting or not. I chose the picture based on what I thought would make a bride go past the first page and want to see more based on location, etc. Yvette
5 immediately jumps out at me-while there are many others i like, this one showcases the bride and the scene equally well, whereas the others showcase one better than the other IMHO-also like 6, even though they aren't very prominent-it's one of those scenics with the couple in it
Thanks to all. Yes, the site is designed to have impact to a bride searching for a photographer. I agree 5 certainly has impact, but could be viewed as a bit too moody for some. I agree with Melanie that we photographers see many of these images, but many brides will see it as something really cool and want to see more. The poll will be closing soon, so I can reveal who shot these. Images 1-5 were shot by FM member Archangel (Andy and Angie Wood). 8, 9, and 10 are mine. The others are not members here, but we are all from the Denver area.
Thanks again!
5. If i had to put up one image i want something that shows not only the dress but the brides figure. If it's a great shot after that then good.
Though a nice series of images there are only three that do that 2, 3 and 5 and the latter does it better than the other two as well as being a terrific photo.
Steve: bride forum feedback would be helpful as well, if you haven't already done so. Or a poll on a blog.
I would incorporate this into some publicity as well for your group. This is free traffic to engage potential brides as well. Blog the poll, Facebook it, Myspace it, etc.
Grasp every opportunity. (takes off marketing hat)
it's stunning and subtle all at the same time - and without being drawn to a bride's face, potential brides could get that 'insert yourself here' ooh and ahh vibe.
And the winner is... #2, shot by Autumn Burke of www.autumnburke.com. Autumn is a very good photographer and business person. I've shot with her before and she's a lot of fun to work with. The vote tally was taken among only the photographers in the group. My votes were for #8 (mine) and #5. Surprisingly enough, #5 received only two votes from our group. I guess the general concensous was that it was maybe too much? Anyway, #2 was a distant second, but still 2nd place here. Thanks to all.
