Yep, that sky sure is sexy. Nice processing, too. The compo seems a tad off, my eye wants to see the main seastack a little more to the right side of the frame. That's a minor nit though.
yeah not so sure about the comp here unless it was your intention to make the central sea stack particularly dominant. The blue also feels a little oversaturated.
Nice shot, but I agree a different crop/composition would help it tons. Personally, I'd place the main haystack in the bottom right third of the image.
I wish the tide was out that far when I was there three weeks ago.
Also heard two people fell asleep on the beach south of the haystacks and awoke trapped by high tide. One was rescued, the other was not found from what I last heard.
i agree with the above comments. An amazing sky but composition not quite right. I shoot at Cannon Beach quite a bit and I don't remember seeing the that many rocks in front of the sea stacks.
What a killer sky! I like all those rocks leading towards the stack, I remember at low tide all of the tide pools created by them, it was really cool. I wonder if you lightened up the whole foreground a bit more so that the rocks could really lead to the stack?
Beautiful views, both. I am torn because I like the more saturated and darker pinks and FG (1st version) and the more controlled blues in the 2nd version. Perhaps I would like to see a bit more of rocks in the FG, or perhaps not see rocks being cut at the bottom of the image.
Definitely the re-do!
Wonderful sky, and I like the more off-center main stack.
Had to be a glorious morning!!
I'm not sure what they are, but there are 3 whitish flecks low in the main stack that are a little distracting to me, especially the larger, squarish one. They're minor, but now I've seen 'em, my eyes keep going there.
Looks great. If you shot them in RAW and processed them in ACR I would take the Blue slider in the HSL tab down a bit more. At least with my files, I have the blue slider down by about 20 points because ACR seems to generally push blue a bit harder than all the other colors, for my camera.
