p.1 #1 · D700 + kingston CF-cards a bad combo?

I have bought three (oem :P ) CF-cards from Kingston, 2x8gb and 1x16gb, so far I have tried one of the 8gb and the 16gb, they have both failed. Is nikon d700 hard on cf-cards or have I just been very, very unlucky?

anyone else had problems?

I am 100% positive I have original cards (big store chain in norway, strict laws, big fines etc).

(make that 99% :P )

I get to return the cards and all, I just don't know if I should ask for sandisk in return.

I have better luck with Sandisk, Lexar, and Hoodman.

Take your body down there and put the new cards in it to test it. You just might have some bad luck. Usually when cards are bad they are bad from the get go. Just FYI I bought some Transcend 300x 4 and 8GB and have had very good luck with them and they are rated strong by RG.

I gotta back up Wicked on those Transcend cards... I bought two of them (4GB) from newegg.com for less than the one SanDisk Extreme IV I have, and they are just as fast IMO.

I bought a Kingston Elite Pro 8 gig 133x and so far it's fine.
Paid $24.95 the other week at Fryes.com and then saw them for $19.95 at Adorama, but the reviews were pretty much negative so I didn't buy any more.
I'm looking for Lexar 133x 4 or 8 gig for a decent price but haven't seen any yet.
I tried a SanDisk Extreme III but it wasn't any faster than my Ultra II's but it looked to be a counterfeit.
Good Luck.
Remember to format in the camera, not the computer.

I have 4 lexars, and one RiData.... all work fine....

just bought a Lexar 133x 4GB for $35....

damn memory is CHEEP these days!!

I remember paying $200 for an 80x 1GB

and I don't even want to think about what a 128MB card would have cost in 1999....

When I bought my first 48MB card for my Nikon 990 it cost $150, my second 48MB only cost $100.
