p.1 #1 · Changing Seasons

In Western Australia the season is changing too, but instead of nice yellows and reds in the trees we're getting yellow grass and red dirt. Spring lasts about one month here and usually brings a few storms, some quite dangerous and deadly. Luckily on the West coast they're not too bad.

Here's a shot I took today:

And here's one I took on October 4th

The colour on the second one is due to stacking two nd-grads with a warming polariser. The first one is actually a 3 shot vertical pano, no special filters used. It's my first time posting in the Landscape forum so be nice

Man I'd love to go to Australia some day...

The first shot is awesome, I love it.

The second one is great too. The only thing that I was instantly distracted by is how the grass in the foreground goes from one exposure to another, it's obviously where you brought the ND's line down to. If it were up more closer to the horizon it would have masked it better. Great colors tho!

Thanks Will! I'd love to come see Colorado, Oregon, NYC and Arizona soon (maybe mid next year).

I agree completely with your comment on the second shot, it was even worse until I went to great effort to reduce how noticeable the transition was in post processing. The wind was almost blowing me over and trying to take the ND out of my hands so I was rushing. Big hills behind me and basically flat to the coast (30km or so) means strong winds in this area.

haha, I hear you.

Ever used Lightroom 2? When I saw this shot I thought about how easy it would be to use the selective adjustment brush and get rid of that transition.

Here's a quickie job, I also played with the saturation and contrast some, hope you don't mind:

I like Will's revised version as well. The 1st image though is my favourite here. Perhaps you might consider cloning out the lot # shown in white. It's a bit of a distraction for me. l

Welcome to FM Landscape!

These are some very nice shots. Very nicely done with those clouds, very moody looking and good job on using the road as a lead in line. I like Will's mod of your 2nd shot too.

Great captures, I really like the angles combined with the beautiful skylines.
