Nice! I like the last two. Looks like that lens has some good character.

As I'm sure you now realise, the first pic's framing is just a wee bit too close for the 35mm, unless you want to over-emphasise the subject's features deliberately - though not many will thank you for doing so.

Technically good, lottsa character and spontaneity in those images, and last but not least on the gear forum.....the lens looks good. BTW, I always enjoy seeing stuff with minimal PP evident.

Save the image and look for yourself. It's all there.

Gosh those images are such classic 5D images. I recognize that camera's signature anywhere...

I miss my 5D.

Eric,

Looks like you are happy with your new 35/1.4

I actually like the close up distortion of the 35, at least sometimes it adds to the image / portrait.

Under certain lighting conditions my 5D/35/1.4 combo can't AF well at 2-4m distance though, but judging by my other lenses that's more a 5D AF and lighting issue, than 35/1.4 problem.

Lovely. I am considering this lens, so thanks for posting. The only thing holding me back is the rumored 35 f/1.4L II.

Cheers

That really is only the faintest of rumours, and if the 24 is anything to go by any new lens would come at a premium anyway. Go for it - Canon may leave this lens alone for years or might, as per the 85L, update it in a way that really makes no major difference to most users.
