p.1 #1 · Recent Work w/ Nikon Gear

Thought I'd share some of the recent work I've done in the last month or so and a few tech bits.

From an engagement shoot at the Indianapolis Museum of Art, flash is not allowed in the museum. (which rather puts a damper on how I normally shoot these...)

This is from an earlier engagement session using an on camera SB-800 for fill and to trigger an off camera SB-800 in an XS Litedome on a stand. Shot on the campus of Purdue University.

Can't believe I caught this one at the Salon before a wedding. I do believe it was shot as a JPG in camera in B&W mode. Not something I normally do, but the lighting was awful in the salon.

Great work, Jammy ! I like'm all. Well, No. 5 doesn't do it that much for me not because it's suggestive or "naughty" but simply.... I am not sure where to put my finger on it. Maybe because the image doesn't convey that much intimacy unlike the rest but I am still not sure.

Yet another vote for that last one! What an amazing capture - just can't pose stuff like that, ya know? Very good!

I think I found it. Look at the expression on his face. It is totally wrong for the situation and the rest of the pics.

And people still wonder if high ISO performance is that important...

Hey Jammy in #3 excellent control of exposure dude. I like them all. Is that a typo in #1? D70.... I miss my old D70. it got a bad rap on ISO i thought it handlled noise quite nicely.

That you guys for the kind words I am enjoying myself, it's good to make a living at this.

@ Justin, yep that first shot is with the old D70, I wish I could add another zero at the end of the model number...

@ James R, depending on how things look next year and my wedding engagement load I might get a D700, ISO 2000 or so Is about as high as I like to go for this sort of work on the D300, it would have been so nice to just have been able to shoot at 6400 and not worry about it.

I think I need to do something special with that last photo. Thanks guys!

Thank you!

Nope no permission, I was traveling pretty light and everyone was on fall break so campus was pretty empty. I probably would have asked if we'd been going inside any of the building, but with just one softbox and light stand it's not normally an issue... hopefully.
