p.1 #1 · Recommend a snapshot printer?

I'm thinking about purchasing a small printer that I can take to an event to print out pictures on the spot for people who are there... you know, just for fun. I want good quality, obviously, without it costing a fortune for the machine or supplies.

Any recommendations? I shoot Canon if that matters (and I'd imagine it might.) Thanks!

Camera doesn't matter; modern cameras and printers speak a standardized language when connected via USB.

Check out both the Canon Selphy line and the Epson PictureMate line. They're both right up your alley as long as you're looking for small prints!

Oh, I thought the "DirectPrint" button on my 5D might work better with a Canon printer.

Okay I checked out those lines... still hard to tell what's a good buy. Anyone got one? Thanks.

I have a a couple of Canon snapshot printers and have been disappointed. But recently I purchased a Canon ip100 portable printer. It is amazing and it will print a beautiful 4x6, 5x7, or 8x10. It is small, Bluetooth enabled, can be battery operated, but is not cheap. The prints are fantastic. And with the attached battery is completely cordless. You can even mount the Bluetooth receiver internally.

I have an Epson Picturemate that does a nice job for snap shots, but it's not very fast. It will only print 4 x 6, and the prints cost about $.28 each.

Have had my Epson Picturemate for about a month now... and am impressed.

First time working with the dye-sub printers and like it.
