I haven't had a post in a long while--mostly no subject matter around here. Tracking birds down is not easy so far this year. So, today I hiked a long ways down a deserted beach to get a chance at these Stellar Sea Lions.
They were great! Crabby and vocal---put on quite a show while playing king of the rock.
Enjoy! http://www.pbase.com/herderdog/image/106100833.jpg
Bonnie who Wow, great to see you back for a visit! It appears you hike was worth it Bonnie as you have some rather large visitors that didn't seem to mind your visit. Looks like a beautiful day to be out too. I like the comp in #2, the roar in #3, king of the hill in #7 and sleepytime #8. Welcome back, hope you are to frequent us more often..............please
Bonnie, nice to see you back!! Each one of these tells a story, aggressor, the one being picked on. All arguing over the rock and then getting along for a while. Nice shots, scenery and color. This certainly is different fare for us.
Hey there Bonnie, I haven't been around at FM for a while and get the impression that you're back too! I love sea lions. These are lovely shots. Hope you're well!!!!!!!!!

Wow, what a moment in the first and last ones especially. Color is as fabulous as the emotion evoked
Hi Pancho, thanks so much for checking these guys out. I was the recipient for once --of good light!

Hi Karl! Thank you!
I have actually been really busy with cards and calendars that I print and sell. Not much time to spend elsewhere--and birding has been terrible for me this year.
It was a beautiful day--and the afternoon light was perfect for once.
I hope I can get back here more frequently.

Thanks, Tim! I almost came over to the Fill today--but tried all my old stomping grounds instead. I have been wanting to go down and shoot these Sea Lions for awhile, but the tide or light was never right, plus....it is a long ways to walk!

Hi Susan! No, I haven't been participating as much as I should. Hope I can get back at it a bit. I was thinking of your images all the while I was doing this. Wonderful animals.
Hope all is well with you and you are out getting some great images!

Come back soon Bonnie, you are missed
Tom
Hi Tom! Oh--I'm still here. I still check in and take a look when I have time.
Sure wishing for some better birding. Kitsap and Jefferson counties are birdless! (well not quite--but they really do not seem to be around in the numbers I saw last year) Thanks for checking the lions out!
