Plum Island 11/16/08 Rain and overcast most of the time but it did stop raining. Saw two snowys but a long ways (500 +2X on some & 1600ISO) NOISE. But a snowy is a snowy and then we see this 8 point buck swim across to another shore line on the island. He is a long way off.
Just my son Bob and myself went. Long ride but we got there early and went home early and I never yelled at him once.

Way to go Lou, you managed some decent shots in difficult conditions. I have never seen a buck swimming like that, too cool.
Long ride but we got there early and went home early and I never yelled at him once.

Well Lou, they are a whole lot easier to spot in this terrain vs snow

I have been told there are some to see not far from me and that would be thrill if I do find any. Wow those snowies are beautiful creatures. Nice shot of that buck on the swim, that water looks plenty deep judging by him still swimming that close to shore.

This must have been a great day.............no yelling either you say

Yeah Herb I useally don't do to well when I put that one on but I was tempted to try stacking them. Lot of 600 MM out there today. I already heard from Irv and he is looking for a motel. Make sure you bring the long underware as it is a cool ocean breeze for sure. Last year we got some short ears on there and today we also saw some kind of I think Kite about 4 times in flight.

HA-HA Tim nah I get along pretty good with my son the mathteacher that grabs my bushHawk and 40D with the 1 to 400 every time and leaves me to do the processing.

Yeah Karl he shook like a doog sh*^&ing razorblades when he got out

The don't swim you know, they have hollow hair and they float same as a moose. How would you like to try swiming in water over your head with hoofs for fins

No Yelling well not that I can remember but my head is not to good these days either.

Thanks Roger and these are lucky ones for sure. I always wonder how Jody gets them with a 400MM glass and sharp as a tack. He is amazing with them.

Thanks Ray...not great but like I said a snowy is a snowy. It may get better but it will also draw many photographers there. You don't have to look for the owl just the cars stopped and all those big lenses.

Nice series Lou. I would love to see one of these someday. That is one special creature. #1 is my favorite, and it sure is sharp for using the 2x. Way to go.
