very cool. the fog must have heightened the experience of it being just you and the BE alone. the 2nd shot is very artistic in that there is a subtle gradation between the grey foreground water and the eventual grey foggy sky that you cannot see where one ends and the other begins. i do have one suggestion. i would clone out that rock to the upper right of the BE. it's an eye distraction.

I particularly like the second. Very nice. It really conveys the atmosphere convincingly as well as the magic of seeing wildlife alone like that... Great job!

Eagles are kinda' special. A luxury is knowing there is a second, third..... opportunity for more shots. I love your captures, I know how you feel Tim. Ken is right you know....snow geese or bald eagle?

Yes Karl I was mumbling under my breath and it was along the lines of "I can't believe this!" These guys are VERY shy around here, even if they are in a tree you can't get close. This was a gift I'll tell you. As I said in the PM, life defining. Oh my FM buddies were on my mind while I was shooting that's for sure.

Congrats Tim, the eagles around here will not let you get within 150 meters, kayak or no kayak.

Maybe he did not have his instrument license and was not allowed to take off in foggy conditions.

The fog does adds some drama to the second shot. However if you want to get rid of some haze in your shots (especially the close ones) try a setting with the USM tool around these values and see how you like it:
- Amount: 60%
- Radius: 60 to 70
- Threshold: 0

Socrate, I really didn't crop the second shot all that much. I wanted it to be more of a documentary shot. Your suggestions for making nice are spot on. I may actually do a little work on that and print it. It really is very northwesty. I'll try your technique for cutting the fog.

Hung, the fog made the whole experience outer wordly, that's for sure. You are correct that you can't see the line dividing the fog and the water. It actually was quite disorienting at the time. Yes if I did clone out the object the shot would better, I may just do that.
