These are the results of the trials and tribulations I posted about this am. Thanks again to everyone who offered advice and ideas. I'll take any and all c&c I can get!

Seems like the face is un-naturally bright in the first pic. Then the kids need MORE light in the second one. Third one I really like. Fourth seems over exposed. Fifth is pretty darned good and sixth is close too (still a hair too bright in the face).
I missed whatever you posted this morning. Are you doing any PP on these?

Thanks - very minimal PP (all I know how to do) - a little vignetting, a little bit of spot healing where a rail was showing and I tried to darken my daughter's face in the last one a bit (but I couldn't get it done while looking realistic).
The trouble I had during the shoot was managing my own kids, managing dynamic range on a very bright but tough sun angle and trying to figure out fill flash.

Thanks, I think 3 & 5 are my favorites - a bit discouraging that out of about 400 snaps, I think about 15 were serious keepers. I envy the folks who can manage their own kids for portraits! While portraits are very new to me (struggling with lighting, etc.) my daughter takes to it like a duck to water - the boys on the other hand.....
