A year ago I experimented with Norman grids with my t5dr heads.
After getting advice from qtm and bhphoto I attempted to use the Norman GH5 adaptor and GS5-1 grid kit but they in no way fit my 5" qflash reflectors, being too large a diameter.
Here's a quote from an email I was copied into to from the people at qtm to photogenicpro when I reported this problem - since I'd sought advice from photogenicpro as well.
I ... found out that photographers did use the [Norman] grids and barn doors, [with quantum flash] but with the Norman 5" Reflector and not ours. [quantum] They originally started using them with our Model T, T2, X and X2 models which had no problem holding the reflector since the neck size of our and their reflector is the same diameter. With the newer models (4d, 5d and 5d-R), you may have to modify the necks on the Norman's so they have two notches like the ones in our new reflectors. That should straighten out the situation for you.
I haven't corresponded about grids for the T5dr since so I don't know if anything has moved on. Have you found a solution or been in correspondence with Norman or qtm?
