I just returned from my annual weekend trip to the Smokies. It looks like I missed the peak colors again, but I had a good time. Let me know what you think of these. Thanks!

You may have missed the peak colors on the trees, but the leaves along the streams are perfect here! I particularly like 4, 6, and 7. I would be tempted to selectively warm up the sun burst in #6, as is it is kind of white/blue, while if you tinted it a little more yellow/orange it would make the scene even more welcoming. Good work with those streams, such great colors!

Very nice water images and I think #6 is the best in my eyes. Love the mossy rocks in that first image.

I agree with Floris, the ones with the leaf litter on the sides of the creek are wonderful. I also like the atmospheric ones, 2 & 5.

The whole set works well for me. Maybe 3 stands out a little more than the others. I love the light.

I love them all! After growing up in East TN, I really miss being in the Smokies in the fall.

#6 is my favorite, but I do wonder if you have a slightly different composition for it. I'd like to see the sunburst located in one of the focal points (corners of the middle box in a 9-grid layout) and a little less of the water at the bottom. It's still awesome, though.

Hey Daniel,

A very nice series. #3 is my favorite! Way to work the sun in a couple of those shots. I also like the water shots of #4 and 6, and while I love milky water, I think you ended up losing a bit too much detail in the water for them to be picked as my favorites.

I was there a few weeks ago at sunset and with 20 degree temps and 50mph winds whipping clouds through the parking lot and across your face...has to be one of the coldest spots on the east coast in winter!!!

It was exactly as you described it. I had insulated ski pants, thick fleeces, a North Face jacket, and gloves, but it was still a challenge to be able to shoot. After a while my fingers could not function well enough to change the aperture or ISO settings. it's the wind that really does it. It was beautiful though.
