p.1 #1 · CS3 Aspect Ratio

Hi

I am shooting with a Canon G9 and a Canon 1DMK3.

When I post process the 1D files I always select "front image" to maintain the aspect ratio that the 1D files are imputed as (I think this is 3:2).

I want to make the G9 images the same as the 1D images in size (aspect ratio).

Can someone explain the process to do this. Thank you...Iain

Your G9 images (if they're the same as my G3), have a 4:3 aspect ratio. What I do, when wanting to make 4x6 prints (3:2 aspect ratio), is to set my marquee tool to a 3:2 aspect ratio. I then draw a marquee around the subject area that I want (I can easily reposition it if needed). Once I have the image "framed" the way I want it, I crop it. Now the image has a 3:2 aspect ratio, and I can resize it as necessary. When you crop the image to a 3:2 aspect ratio, you will lose image information along the long dimension of the image, so try to keep that in mind when framing the shot when capturing the image.
