I couldn't find the original forum posting with the description and photo of how to adjust your adapter to fit. So I made my own web page with the description, and took a photo to illustrate it. I hope that it helps.

I've been looking for the Oly 24 mc for months but it does not seem to appear on Eb@y.

Is MC stated on the lens or do I have to look out for certain serial number?

Prashant, good to hear that the adapter adjustment worked for you.

weekh, for a good reference on Olympus OM Zuiko lenses, see Olympus Shared Resources - Zuiko Lenses:
http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/hardwares/classics/olympusom1n2/shared/zuiko/index.htm
http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/hardwares/classics/olympusom1n2/shared/zuiko/htmls/24mm1.htm

"Next, the first Zuiko 28mm f/2.8 lense that beared "MC" in its lens data was believed to have been introduced very latein 1984."

From memory of reading various pages from mir.com.my, while "MC" does signify multi-coated, many Zuiko lenses without the "MC" designation are already multi-coated, forcing people to look at serial numbers and/or guess, and some lenses like the 28mm/f3.5 are single-coated. There's probably no easy answer other than web browsing.

I don't mean to hijack this thread but since it's been asked here what adapters do you guys recommend. I have found big_is on eBay. OK or not? Better choice?

The adapters from Hong Kong from sellers like big_is work fine for me, provided that you adjust the tension as described in previous postings. I recommend them.

Gary,

Did you get the big_is adapters with or without the AF confirmation chips? I'd like to know if I can expect the same level of AF confirmation ability as adapters from Happypagehk.

Thanks.

I've only had a chance to shoot with my Oly 28 for landscape once, but I agree...very sharp, corner to corner (of course, I'm on APS-C, so it's easier for me).

Here's one of the only real shots I have with it, but I'm impressed...My Sigma 30 is a bit sharper in the center, but it can't touch the corner performance of the Oly.

Great shot! Sometimes APS-C has advantages

I've ordered adapters from Hong Kong eBay sellers with focus confirmation, and the focus confirmation works. The small circuit board looks different from two different vendors, one has the chip exposed, the other has the chip embedded in epoxy. Function seems to be identical.

I like big_is. Ask him to set the eprom to your focal length/max aperture. In fact, if you have them set to those for a Canon lens, DPP will treat files as if they were taken with the Canon version and allow you to use lens correction, which may or may not be appropriate for that lens. Since many lens designs are similar, lens correction often works quite well for lenses of a similar focal length. YMMV.
