p.1 #1 · Moon and reflection

While we had a full moon I decided to do a little experimenting with long exposures. I took a walk along the tow path near my home in Wolverhampton, I have posted two of the images below. What was really surprising was the quality of the digital images. Each exposure time was in excess of 4 minutes and the noise levels are incredibly low, to the eye the tow-path was almost pitch-black!

Enjoy

martyn,

#2 is really sweet. these are really cool moonlit shots. surprised, @4mins and the moon didnt get tooooo bright.love the warm tones, wish the right part of #2 had a lil bit more detail.

Ashish,

Thanks for the comments.

I have lifted a little more detail in number 2, didn't really want to go more than this or it starts to look un-natural.

What you think?

I agree, these are cool. I like the colors! I however prefer the 1st, I'm not a fan of the houses in a landscape shot.

#1 is the one - I also don't like the houses in the 2nd shot.

martyn, the Rework looks really nice.

I agree with David and John that #1 as a landscape looks better than #2, but its the colors, the reflection in water (unlike the dark shoadow in the creek in #1), smoother tones in #2 that really got me.

overall both pictures are really beautiful. good job.

OK,

Thanks all for the feedback. I guess what your all saying is walk a bit further down the path and find a better location!

It was my first experiment with moonlight photography and I am going to keep on with it. It was after seeing an image on the black and white forum I felt inspired. Its all clouded over now so tonight is out but I will keep on and report back!

Thanks again for the feedback.

The first one is really good. I like it. The composition in 2, as stated above, doesn't appeal too much to me either.

I like the first quite a bit. It is difficult to try to compose pictures in the dark but I think you have done a good job.
