Fellow FMers. I did a search and could not locate a topic on this (maybe its me but wanted to ask the question: does the D300 have the ability to adjust the focus for certain lenses like the D700 and the newer Canons?
For example, can I set in memory that my 85 1.4 needs backfocusing or visa versa?

so for fine tuning the 70-200, should I set it @ 200mm @ f/2.8?
Unfortunately, zoom lenses can be 'far sighted' at one focal length (i.e. 70mm) and 'short sighted' at the other (i.e. 200mm), so for zoom lenses it's not possible to tune them for all focal lengths perfectly. I wish it were. My 18-200 for instance need about +5 at 18mm and about -2 at 200mm
So, unless your zoom needs the same adjustment throughout it's focal range, this is not going to be much help.
My 70-200 needed the same adjustment. I tested at 200 (which is where I use it most), but it improved the 70 mm end as well. I don't know if the 70mm end was the optimal adjustment, but I figured I could always turn it off if it made things worse. Instead it made it better as well.
