Sorry I have to start a new thread, but no one in the Master Thread seems interested in discussing anything but Autofocus and the D700.
I will mainly shoot landscapes with the new 5D, but would also like to try out the video. Will this require a UDMA card, or will my trusty old Ultra II's do the job? I'd like to know before the Sandisk rebate ends.
I'm in the same boat as you are and plan on getting a couple of UDMA cards and a Firewire 800 UDMA card reader. I always use Sandisk, but may try a cheaper card due to the fact I plan on getting 8gb or larger cards.
I remember reading somewhere here that those who plan on using the 5DII for video were going to have to put out some additional funds. I guess this might be the first of those funds to go to B&H.

i don't know, but I HOPE those $4 a card 8GB Ext III cards from Adorma will work....
I decided if I was going to spend that much on the camera then I wouldn't skimp on the CF card. With the current rebate on Sandisk, the 8GB Ext IV works out to only $45 a card - not a bad price.
