p.1 #1 · Coot in the grass

Found something new to me today on a brief outing so I thought I would post it. They are not common in these parts.

40d, 400 5.6L

Tim

1 Greater White fronted goose (the new one)
2 Goldfinch feasting on thistle (might be a tad soft around the eyes, hand held)

Coot in the grass, has a nice jingle to it Tim Nice easy feel to it, live the FG and BG on this one. I think the finch is spot on for sharpness, I see nothing soft at the eye I like the markings on the bird, just a little busy on the BG but that is nature Great color!

They are both very nice shots, Tim. Very sharp detail in the second pic. Nice angle, feel, bg and detail in the first one.

Tim,
Great capture on the finch, love the detail and that it's eating the little seeds.
Thanks

Thank you Mr, Witt. My first thought when I saw the geese in an open field was "what background is there" I got a good angle on it and it took care of itself. The finch, they were moving around so much bg's selection we nigh on impossible.

Thanks Tom, I had heard the geese may be there and they were, got lucky I guess. Those finches were being difficult, one finally held still long enough.

Where are the coots? We'll have millions of them in a month or so

Thanks for the words.
