p.1 #1 · FS: Tamron 28-75 Nikon Bargain $220

I just purchased this from a well established FM'er a week ago. It was LNIB when it arrived. Since then my wonderful 1 year old daughter somehow got her little hands on it and dropped it from the second floor of our house to the first floor. It hit the front door carpet, which is over a hard wood floor. The drop was around 10 feet...

I have decided I am not willing to count on this lens for events. There is a crack in the barrel where it hit the floor. I have put about 50 shots through it since this incident and mechanically it seems to be as it was before the accident. AF works good, and it acquires focus with the same speed and reliability as before

I have put some sample photos shot at 70mm @ 2.8 to test focus, and sharpness. These photos are straight from LR w/o any additional PP or sharpening. I also attached the NEF files if anyone is interested... There is also a couple of photos of the crack.

It comes with everything as new including the blank warranty card. I don't feel like messing with Tamron support to get everything checked out. I am not sure if this would even fall under their warranty or not...

I would gladly keep it if I was just planning to shoot pics of the family, but since I am trying to do more paid work lately, I am just not willing to take a chance... It seems to still work great, but obviously the fall couldn't have done it any good...

Price $220 shipped and paypalled. I will ship it insured by Fedex.

once again... these are straight from the camera, no PP or sharpening.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks Chris!

btw... I verified the front element is not bent in any way as far as I can tell. 67mm filters screw right in, as does the hood, and lens cap. The place where the small crack is has maybe .5 to 1mm of play if you try to move it with your finger nail. This goes for a little under an inch past the crack, with the play (or movement) getting smaller and smaller as you get further away from the crack.

Let me know if anyone needs any additional information.

This is a great 2.8 lens at a great price. I love it more than some of my Canon L glass lenses.
