There seem to be plenty of reviews complaining about edge softness on the previous 24L. Also, Canon has developed a new lens coating that cuts down on flare, and chose a wide-angle lens to introduce it on.

There are also plenty of reviews complaining about FM'ers complaining about everything under the sun. Perhaps we should develop a new FM'er? Or at least a new coating for them reducing their tendancy to flare at the introduction of new equipment.

I'll sell you my 24L mk1 for $1200... that's $500 off of the new model, which is going to be unreliable since anything that comes in the "first batch" has a 99% chance of malfunctioning. Like all FM/Ebay sellers, I promise you my lens has only been used "once or twice" and is in absolutely new condition!
