Actually the real price after the VAT refund (foreigners don't pay it) is about $ 9600. I ordered one a couple of weeks ago.

However, one must add all duties/taxes on the lens that need to be paid upon importing the lens to Sweden.

How about pricing 1Ds III next week after the 5D II at 21-24MP and gapless lenses is announced...

I'd expected used ones to drop, similar to the D3 / D700 effect.

New, not sure, but what will a 1Ds III offer over the 5D II, higher frame rate and buffer size?

Will see soon I guess.

That wouldn't be gapless pixels would it? The Mk IIIs will continue to offer fast FAST autofocus and big buffers.

There have already been some 1Ds3's sold in the $5700 range on FM, most likely due to a new 5D at 24mp. This will "tank" the 1Ds3 sales considerably. $5k is a realistic price, something I would pay over a $3k 5D2.
