Long story short:
I have read the NUMEROUS threads on the topic in the forums.
I have been calibrating in the past with color eyes display and a DTP-94 puck.
My puck got smashed and the software is now comparatively out of date.
I have been reading reviews on Northlight-images, most of which don't come to a concrete finding about any of the solutions.
I want the following:
Multiple Monitor Support
Price under $400 USD.
Which option is really the best, because I am left scratching my head.

The DPT-94 is a discontinued item and is no longer being produced. As an older colorimeter, it lacks the necessary filters to accurately calibrate todays wide gamut and LED displays.
Currently one of the most advanced colorimeters on the market is the Spyder3 Elite. With the largest available sensor and seven color filter engine, it is optimized for wide gamut, LED and laptop displays as well as projectors. The interface is ultimately configurable with both manual and automatic modes.

Because I think it is. Up until this moment I haven't seen any reviews were other colorimeters get better marks. The software is great and gives excellent results.
I know it's dated. But if you search the Internet, the next generation wasn't better. I'm not familiar with the current line of colorimeters. Maybe they are better, but maybe they are not. It would be nice if a neutral expert would do a good review. I only know that the DTP-94 was considered the best colorimeter on the market, so purchasing a sample so long you can is in my opinion a wise investment.
I believe the Eye1 instruments are also good. So, it’s not that the rest is bad. The TS asked for a recommendation, and if I would have to buy a new system, I would buy the DTP-94 with ColorEyes Pro software (and also did).

I only recommend products that I have personally used and the DataColor Spyder 3 incorporates the latest technology in both hardware and software to calibrate/profile today's monitors.
A colorimeter is only as good as its built in filtering ability and the Spyder3 has seven independent color filters that enable it to accurately calibrate the new LED backlit monitors as well as LCD, CRT, Laptop and projectors.
If you read the link I provided to the Luminous Landscape discussion, you will discover that Xrite has indeed stopped producing the DP-94. Any models still being sold are in stock. Color expert Andrew Rodney(digital dog) has pronounced the DP-94 dead. Hence his quote "Time to move on, Optix RIP (Rest In Peace)".
While the DP-94 was a great colorimeter for it's time, it is outdated and as the previous poster indicated, drivers are already an issue.
I could not in good faith recommend purchasing this outdated hardware.

I'm also using the DTP-94 on Vista Premium (32bit) and the Monaco Optix XR software without issues. There is a fix available on XRite's site for Vista. Not sure if it works for 64 bit, though (I'm thinking that I recall that it didn't).
