p.1 #1 · First "real" senior portraits

My first paid senior portrait shoot with my brand new 40D. They're hosted on DA so I'm going to post the links. I'd appreciate if anyone could comment/critique and maybe give me some unique post-processing ideas and tips.

1. Interesting idea, however I would of focused on the subject and left the flowers in the foreground unfocused.
2.& 3. were a little drastic.
4. Nice head and shoulder, probably would of used a flash eliminate the shadow around the eyes

Nice ideas and creativity.

The third is over exposed.
The others are fine, except for the most important part - the face.
That hat keeps the eyes in a shadow.
Next time hope that she doesn't bring the hat, or spend 20-30 shots trying flash or reflector to get some light to her eyes.

Keep up the good work.

1 - totally does not work. Focus point is not even a flower, it's a WEED, dude. You've got beautiful woman behind the weed, focus on her
2 - Doesn't work for me, I like to see the eyes on a portrait
3 - this one has potential, tone down the effect and crop a bit tighter down from the top right - the winner of the group
4 - again with too much shadow on the eyes for my taste. If you can't see the eyes sparkle, it's not lit for a portrait. You might be able to dodge this one

thanks for sharing.

I think the hat was a bad idea. It shadows/covers the face on these.

I like IV, and II's not bad. Don't care for the processing in I. III is just plain out of focus - the focus is on the weeds.
IV is really good, however.

The focus on III was intentional.. just an experiment. Most of the shots have the focus on her face. Now, a question for all you experts.. what would you charge for these? I'm bad at judging my own work. If you were a client, what would you be comfortable with paying?
