picnic Offline Image Upload: Off p.1 #3 · Lightroom 2 and Wacom Tablets I use a Wacom Intuos with my Win XP Pro main computer that I process with and a Bamboo on my Vista laptop----both with Lightroom. It works fine but brush pressure is not available in Lightroom (and the only place this would work anyhow is with the brush tool). I've used a pen for so long that I use it for almost everything so I didn't even think about it. I've used the Wacoms for both 1.4 and 2.0 (as well as PSCS3). Someone mentioned brushes - And the new brushes in LR 2 is one of the reasons I'm going to upgrade and hopefully give CS3 a little rest. But if the pressure sensitivity does not work in LR2 what would be the benefits or advantages using a tablet in LR 2? - Am I missing something very obvious? If so it certainly wouldn't be the first time. Or was this actually just another part of Adobe's dark master marketing plan.......... Oh no .... I smell a new upgrade ... butchM Offline Image Upload: Off p.1 #5 · Lightroom 2 and Wacom Tablets It's quite true there are no capabilities for pressure sensitivity in LR2, but there was quite a gap from the introduction of brushes until sensitivity functionality came about in PS as well. Keep in mind, LR's Develop Module is a RAW converter mostly and PS is a pixel editing program. Quite a difference in coding, I'm sure. With LR being coded from the ground up, there will be some growing pains. I think the app has made great strides in a very short period of time. I find the localized adjustments in LR to be a very welcome addition as well as the gradient filter. I will gladly pony up a few bucks more when brush sensitivity comes along as well. Yes I even use it for gaming, except for FPS, and it's way easier and better for the hand in general. I've used a mouse for LR and it was a little awkward to drag those sliders all the time with it, especially fine-tuning. Also some tablets have those extra buttons you can custom program per application, As well as the touch strips which are used for scrolling. Nothing I hate more in LR than to drag the slider with a mouse/tablet and end up clicking the arrow that expands or hides the tab.
