p.1 #1 · Pictures of our Studio... finally! | |
We moved in back in January... but our ribbon cutting was today. So we got a lot of the little jobs that have been hanging over our head done in time for the ceremony. It was neat having the Mayor and city council people and other Chamber members come to show their support... but it was especially nice to see all of my family and friends turn out for it. I bawled like a baby during my remarks to the crowd... mostly because I was just to overcome by the reality of it all. I was "just a stay-at-home mom" for so many years. I never thought this could happen. But I'm awfully glad it has.
Introducing... Portraiture by Melanie!

Follow me to the side of the building for a closer look at the window that showcases what we offer...
This doesn't actually allow you to view through it into the studio... it's been walled up on the inside.

Welcome to our front door! Won't you come in?

This is the lobby! The door is to your left...

I love my chandelier... and see my awesome window display? It's two-sided... of course, one of the
images is missing because it hasn't actually arrived here yet. But it'll get here tomorrow! Didn't want you to wait.

This is the front window on the inside... but facing the street...

I also love my chairs... we had them custom made.

These are the 30x40 images on the main wall...

Here's where I sit for hours a day...

Here's where my storybooks are displayed...

This is only here for reference. It's where the hall takes you back to the studio...

The hallway will eventually be a gallery of images...

And here is where the hall opens up...

Here's the backdrop area... and our sorting desk. The red area is the dressing room and bathroom...

Hard to take a picture of the dressing room... if you look through the mirror, you'll see the step up into the bathroom.

This is the homeschool room... we have the history of the world cards on opposing walls...

This is where they play games and eat and do art...

This is where they're entertained by movies...

At night, this is what the front window display looks like as you drive by...

My name... two feet tall and sixteen feet wide.
