A few questions re: limited prints. Is there a strict definition of what is and isn't a limited print?
To go into more details:
- is there an agreed "limit"? i.e. 20 prints, 100 prints, 1000 prints...
- is a limited print linked to the size of the print? e.g. a series of 20 "big" pictures, but unlimited print of smaller pictures
- is it possible to sell limited prints of a pic if the same pic has already been published, e.g. in a magazine (in small or large size, depending on distribution of magazine, etc)
I am asking this in the following context: I will publish a few pics in a magazine with limited distribution, but was thinking at the same time of showing them in an exhibition where the possibility to sell limited prints might arise... but I would be interested in "generic" answers as well.
