NOTHING technical here, purely for anyone searching for pictures from this lens with a simple room light.

you can't do 3200 on a D300. You know that...

I'm still contemplating that lens. But i'd also like a 50mm 1.4... hmmm

It is scary, at least it is for me.
If this is the performance you can expect from the new cameras imagine just what would it be 2 years from now!
Scary.

From where I'm sitting it might use a white balance correction but looks good. How about this?

Moved the color balance slider from yellow to blue and did a little noise reduction with keep details at 100%.

too much magenta now and the noise reduction made it look smeared. but that's personal. Don't be afraid of a little noise, it will not be a problem in a print...

I like the noise from the D300 at 3200ISO. Agreed, the second pic looks too red, but other looked green

Oh, the lens looks like it does well.

Be curious to see what a Nikkor 35mm f/1.4 AFS would be like--make it sharp at 1.4, Nikon!!

I am definitely impressed with this lens in low light settings.

And D300 noise at iso 3200 is quite usable in most situations that would even require 3200.

Is your monitor color calibrated? There was an awful lot of magenta in that one

I've never questioned it. One must embrace its razor-thin DoF. Was my favorite lens to use before selling it.

The D300 really rewards you for perfect white balance. Shots at ISO3200 will be even better when the white balance is dead on.

This one isn't. I posted it from my laptop and I wouldn't be surprised if its off. I formatted it because I'm selling soon and haven't applied a color profile.
