p.1 #1 · dark enought?

I bought a new monitor and calibrated it. That was not really possible with my 10 year old one. Does that pic appear as to bride now?

Hello Scott, thank you for your comment. Maybe you are not allone.
My old monitor showed stronger contrasts and the picture looked some darker there.
After I bought the new one and calibrated it my old pictures seem okay to me. But they look different from what I knew (sth. like one stop darker). I just wanted to know, if you folks here think the picture above comes to bright or if you think its okay.

It is a very individual image - and so it is hard to say what it should look like.

Not too bright for me. Maybe a bit light.

It was a serious comment. If you were to post a more normal image it would be easier to help you. On the other hand.......

I'd say not too bright, but as Paul said, there is no clear reference point for us. Without measuring values, appears to be a good tonal range, but a bit of blown out areas along wrists, heel, shoulders, cheek, forehead. All within acceptable for a stylized image, IMHO.

In fact a whole lot more sensible approach would be to look at a good selection of all the many images on this site. If they are look too bright to you - guess what - your monitor is too bright.

Thank you all. You are right. Its blown out in areas, becouse she is walking through the rain and light is above behind her. So I will not rework all my old b/w images :-)

Some of the coloured ones I have to. :-(

@paulhudson:
I know. I was joking. Sorry if misunderstood.
