I'm certainly no expert, but on the second photo, something about the pose seems off to me - Her looking up into the light seems a bit awkward, or as if she's about to get abducted by a UFO. Just my opinion - take it for what it's worth.

She seems *much* too old for such a photo, IMO.
How can someone be too old for a picture? Is there a rule somewhere that precludes anyone over twenty-five from putting on some glad rags and throwing some shapes at the camera?
I like both of them actually. The models age not an issue, and she is pleasing to look at. I think that a slower shutter speed would have brought up the ambient a little to balance the shots a little. Maybe the boa in the second could have been moved aside a little.

I prefer the first shot, very dynamic.

For *such* a photo. His title is 'first try with fashion'. Pick up a fashion magazine and tell me what you see? The style he is emulating, regardless of light, composition, or anything else, will fail to work as fashion because of the model selected - it's the first thing anyone in thata field would notice. The light is nice, the outfit, the post work, and I understand that there's a lot of back-patting and compliments that get thrown around here, but it would not be something a serious fashion photographer would use when approaching prospective clients. It would be nice if boundaries such as age didn't exist for different fields of work, but it's the truth.
