p.1 #1 · Type 1 or type 2 CF card???

What is the difference between type 1 and type 2 compact flash cards?

Normally I use the SanDisk ultra II type 2 CF card, and I bought a CF (buy one get one free frio $30) card but it was SanDisk ultra II type 1 cf card,

Will this work in any of my camera? (Canon rebel XTi, 20D, 40D).

Thanks

No. The Ultra II is a Type 1 card, too.

The Type 2 cards are 5 mm thick, the form factor primarily being used for IBM microdrives and the like a few years ago. I don't know of any currently manufactured Type 2 cards, though there may be some ancient ones in the bargain bins somewhere. Enjoy your Type 1 cards.

BUT when I got it the card looks different and it says on the top of the package “type 1”

I'm not sure about that one specifically, but black labeling was introduced to better differentiate the Ultra II from the Extreme III. The photo on the website is of an older Ultra II.
