i live in austria, and invariably when people ask where i´m from, and subsequently hear me say texas, they make some george bush comment which is supposed to have some implication about my culture/intelligence/whatevah.

i remind them that by the same reasoning, i could be perpetually disgusted at austrians for spewing hitler unto this earth, but have chosen the diplomatic road instead.

I'm a Texan, and have lived in Utah...and I have to admit that was the first thing I thought. i love love Texas but I cringe whenever I see some ultra conservative or prudish otherwise embarrasing thing hit the news...like a book banning or cult standoff, or a school teacher getting fired for taking the kids to see a grecian funerary urn at the Dallas Museum of art....or Bill Nye being run out of town on a rail for saying the moon reflects the light of the sun... ....I say to myself "please don't let it be Texas"

Just because George Bush is from Texas, doesn't mean anything about other Texan's.

Same with George Bush being American. Just because he's an American, and I'm an American, doesn't mean anything.

I'm not even from Texas and I get annoyed with the "must be from Texas" thing.

Another thing that bothers me, "It's the Pittsburgh mindset". What the heck does that even mean? GRRR

Since an incorrect association is meaningless, I'd side with an intelligent monster over a stupid one, any day.

Also, it was millions of Jews, according to History. But ask yourself how many people are dying every day at the hands of the Bush administration (so the free people of America can continue to drive SUVs).

The difference is, the Germans and Austrians (and Japanese, etc.) know better than that now. Apparently, the Bush regime needs to learn a similar lesson.
