I shot this series while i was visiting Maui with a model friend of mine, Tim and his friend Ivy. Im in that phase where film is cool again, so my post reflects an aged, film-grain look. As always, C&C greatly appreciated.
Nice set! Good modelling and lighting given the midday sun etc.
My only negative on these is that the luggage is modern and aside from that and the speed limit sign everything else works for the retro look you've created with the PPing. So it's just that clash between modern and old that is putting me off a bit. Other than that, I really like these.
i like the idea-other than the modern stuff vs. the aged processing issue pointed out by inga, my only problem is that it doesn't look very authentic-she's looking at you in shots 1 and 3, rather than the oncoming cars-they just don't sell the concept of hitchhiking to me
Completely agree with the luggage comment. I have another edit of the same photos that might have a more appropriate post work (considering the modern luggage issue).
As far as authenticity with her looking at the camera instead of the cars, i guess it's hard to tell who she's looking at since you can't really see the eyes behind her glasses.
thanks for the comments guys. keep em coming. i'll post another edit soon.
The hair styles, clothes, luggage etc. all look like 2008. Only the appearance of the photo looks old. Strange juxtaposition; that means putting two things side by side as in a comparison.
i like it. I think its pretty obvious its not an old photo, even without the luggage. The styles are just too modern. So I think the juxtaposition between old processing and modern styles is interesting.
