mpaul73 Online Image Upload: Off Price Bump/Site Critique Decided to bump my prices by $400 for each package. Would appreciate any feedback on my website and pricing structure to make sure this is as effective as can be. Keep your head up, work on the way you advertise, and get your name out. Best of luck to you...we know you can do it! There's nothing wrong with the website...it looks great. I hope my price increase is going to work in my favor and not go against me. There is so much competition here in the Seattle area so it is very easy to be lost in a sea of wedding photographers. And there are a lot who are doing it for much less than me. Obviously there is a whole gamut of quality, but I have lost 1 person this year who went for a photog who could do it cheaper and he thought his work was as good as mine. I encourage you to look into the sites I sent you and learn as much as you can about marketing. Brand yourself as different than the others and advertise about the things that make your business different. Be infectious within the community and meet people. Network with other wedding vendors. If you have more weddings under your belt, post the best images from them....don't scrimp. You can also have generic wedding portfolios in addition to client specific ones. Rivermist Offline Image Upload: On Price Bump/Site Critique Really nice pictures, as a matter of curiosity why do you not mention book production, or mural (canvas) prints, as options or with a basic product included in the package (for which you could then suggest upgraded and more expensive alternatives)? I feel you quality of work is not conveyed strongly with just an online slideshow and images on a disk. My guess is you may be leaving money on the table, but this could be due to established practices in your region. Regarding your price bump, I would suggest that the price difference of $400 for an additional 3 hours of shooting is rather low, considering that you will have 500 more pictures (or 1,500?) to deal with as well as dealing with a longer evening, etc. Nice idea to include the couples picture shoot.
