Time for some cross-posting. We seldom see any pics from this lens, yet it is wanted by many. Voigtländer Ultron II 40/2 on FF!
First off a little series showing how the bokeh changes with distance.
f/2 @ 2 feet:

f/2 @ 4 feet:

f/2 @ 6 feet:

f/2.8 @ 6 feet:

As you can see, the bokeh gets more distracting and harsh, the larger the distance. But stopping down slightly reduces the harshness, and the bokeh gets good again at f/2.8.
Some more shots...

This is my new standard lens, and I'm soooo in love with it. Sure the bokeh could have been better at distance, but any 50 mm lens (except for the Sigma, which I also had for a while) would be worse. Not to mention the Nikkor 35 mm lenses.
The Voigt is a nice in-between lens that does most things better than the 35 and 50 mm lenses, in my opinion.
Edit: If you want "better" bokeh @ 35-50 mm, the Sigma 50/1.4 and Nikkor 24-70 are the ones to go for. But the size of those... Nah.
