Spotted this Crab spider as I was looking for more ladybugs. He was good enough to let me take multiple shots both natural light and flash.

As much as I prefer natural light, I gotta say I like the flash shots here, Jim. That little guy really pops in the flash shots. Very well done IMO. Can I ask how you metered the flower? I have the darnedest time metering reds/violets/magentas.

Thank you Gary and Kenny, I wish all my stuff turned out as well.

Kenny, you give me too much credit really. I shoot manually mostly and adjust as I go, peeking a lot. In this case I wanted the color so I dropped the SS to a 60th and lowered the flash to compensate.
I did try Aperture mode with the natural light but the metering is off the spider.

Excellent shots. My preference is for #3 and #4. Some one should tell that crab spider that its camouflage isn't working

I don't think she has been on the flower long, at least I have not seen her until yesterday.

Very nice Jim,

I like both the natural nad flash shots.

It looks like a very similiar pose and composition (#1 & #3). Have you considered making a HDR image out of them? Might be interesting......Nevermind I just tried it and they don't quite line-up.
