Agreed on the umbrella and game shots TWoK. Very nice.
I see you got some Ektar finally. You like it or no?
Yeah it's nice for sure. I found it almost as nice as some slide film. I will buy more if I ever shoot through all of my cheap color negative.
+1 on the umbrella shot - nicely executed!
We really have a heap of hopeless people here. Its mind blowing. I've been shooting them for a year and I still discover new enclaves of them all the time. Almost as bad as the aboes I dealt with in Rockhampton.
Nice stuff. Work has kept me from much scanning lately, but I'll have some new film shortly. Anyways, here is a bit I scanned tonight from early September. Both Ektar with a Canon 17-40L on an EOS3.

Now now, you can't go disrespecting our rightful landowners like that!
You'll get shanked!
Honestly though I cant disagree with you.. There are plenty of great Aboriginal people in Aus but unfotunately there is also a considerable and altogether un-missable contingent who insist on emulating 50cent and making their way through their short lives as abrasively as possible.
As always, it's the young men who are making a bad image for the rest. Lebanese youths in sydney are also achieving the same thing and I'm not sure that Aboriginals are any worse despite widespread drug and alcohol problems and gang violence.
Speaking of gang viloence, people in Aus seriously need to stop being so fucking impressed with gang-style life. Sydney has a LOT of small gangs who the only reason they exist is so that members can be 'hard'. I have to hate a culture where being called a 'straight-up killer' is a form of praise..
ok im done now
Nice shots from the 'cron! you get what you pay fo it seems
Just out of curiosity, what scanners do you guys use? I'm in the market for one in the ~$200-300 range, and want to get some opinions for some good 35mm negative scanners. Thanks
I bought my Nikon LS-4000 for the higher amount of your range. Well worth it. I use an Epson 4990 for large format which also cost around $300. The Nikon just gets more from the film in detail and dynamic range.
mrladewig: lovely series, the swirling leaves and distant light in the tunnel in #2 are excellent, the distant light makes you wonder what is further along the tunnel.
I too rather like E100VS and E100G, I prefer them over velvia, blasphemy I know
This may be off topic, but could any fellow film users recommend a good anti-static dust brush, and a good mid-price loupe? I've just had 14 rolls of 120 back and have to sort through them now...
