Thanks Dan.

Your images are really sharp, much better than mine.

My RZ is an Ebay Special, it came with a 90mm lens. Does anyone know if the 90mm has a reputation for being soft?

Regards,

Frank

Fverburg - I think if anything, RZ lenses have reputation for all being exceptional. I don't have the 90mm, but all of mine are crazy sharp.

redisburning - why not save some cash and get an Autocord? Here's a 6x6 for you:

Fverburg,
I thought all the RZ lens are pretty good.
The two "best" ones I have are the 65mm LA and the 50mm ULD
The 110 is very nice. The 180 is the least sharp of the kit but when you need focal length it get's the job done.

The 65 is ~$250-300 & the 50 ULD is about $450+ so there is a 1st/2nd tier with RZ lenses.
The 65 is the most versatile for me but the 50 is crazy sharp.
I usually stick to the sweet spot if I can, which is f8-f11. Sometimes I push it for DOF.

Now I have to learn all over again with my LF lenses!

Thanks Corposant and Dan,

Part of the issue might be my Scanning Technique. I just started scanning film so this might be a bit of a learning curve. Here is the Tree and Sand in Color, reprocessed and it looks sharper to my eye.

Ive owned one. The lens is nice, the camera itself I think lags behind.

I really like the 3.5 tessar's OoF transitions and I like the 'flex as a camera enough to justify the price of the Automats and things like that.

Lovely shots by all in this thread, my favorite to venture through on this website. Here are a few from my minolta srt201 with md 28/2.8 celtic I picked up. Film was fuji xtra 400 (what I had in it) and most stopped down to either f11 or f16 with cpl on. Discovered since last using this camera last summer that light leaks have developed so just replaced the seals today. These are from last month.
