looking at the postings here om FM, and at these type of websites, maked me even more curious about film photography, sure it isn't that old of a medium, but still!
My first "real" camera was an old Yashica that broke many years ago and got lost at some point during one of my college year moves. I really miss that camera.
I just picked up a copy of my old SLR off Ebay to use with some of my Zeiss C/Y glass and its like old love reunited! I just love the feel of it, the HUGE VF (makes my 6D seem pathetic) and the loud shutter clack. I just loaded up some Portra 400 and can't wait to get out this weekend and shoot with it.....

ick! i had a non-super one and couldn't stand the plasticky feel and clanky shutter. i gave it to my daughter.
to each their own, looking forward to pics with it.
anyway a couple with the rokkor 17/4 on an xd-11 and tmax 400:
I'm loving the light weight, esp with the C/Y 50 1.7 and the VF is simply awesome.
yeah, it depends where you're coming from. compared to a 6D it's a tiny camera with an awesome viewfinder. my primary ovf camera at the time was my minolta XD-11 (having given up on dslrs), which is an all metal camera the same size as the fx-3 with a better viewfinder (optically – viewfinder size is pretty much the same) and a reasonably quiet shutter. also, i was just using the c/y 35/1.4 on it, which is a pretty hefty lens that made the plastic camera creak. i replaced the fx-3 it with a contax aria and have been very happy with it despite the larger size. it has a much nicer feel and a better viewfinder for focusing off center (though it's a bit smaller magnification).
