Well, I got the 300D for my wife at Christmas, as she's been knocking on the door of a seriouls DSLR for some time now after outgrowing her point and shoot.
Only had it a few weeks but so far I'd say it's outstanding value.
When I look back at my first D30, and now look at what the 300D gets you for less than $1k, it's simply outstanding.
I'll give it a workout on the bigger L glass, as and when I get the chance, and post some samples here.
For now, the kit lens does a decent job for general shooting, but does suffer some chomatic abaration issues at the edges.
Can't complain for the money, and I am comparing it to F2.8 L glass.
If anyone is in the market for a decent DSLR, I'd sat 300D and kit lens is the best place to start for the money.
