You would have been correct a few years ago but the experts have split Blue Grouse into two species. The coastal species which you have so nicely captured is now called Sooty Grouse. The interior species is Dusky Grouse.

Thanks to all of you for you comments. As I spoke with the park ranger in this area they said they had not spotted any of these birds this season. They were interested in where I had seen it.
