finally spring time is here, and time to get out a little with a camera... any camera. These were shot with a goofy kind of setup; a tamron 2X teleconverter, PK-13 extension tube and a 50mm 1.8 stopped all the way down in some shots.... made for alot of diffraction so i went back and shot some with it opened up some... definately sharper but still no macro lens. Makes for interesting compositions though, compared to my (sold) sigma 150 macro.
Please enjoy these first few images of 2008, some are kind of scarey since it appears the ants are grooming babies in my front yard (ZOIKS!)

My wife corrected me, those aren't babies, they are aphids. The ants are munching on them
Not eating them, but eating the honeydew they spew out their rear-ends and tending them. I watched ants move aphids from one plant to another to continue to "Farm" them. Pretty amazing. Great pics. gald you are havng fun with macro. It is absolutely addictive
