p.1 #1 · general portfolio critique-One year in photography,
Hello all, I've posted a few times here, but have been lurking for months. I'm a 16 year old photographer and I've been involved with photography for a little over a year now. Over this past year I have been trying to build my portfolio up as much as possible, taking photos every opportunity I get. Eventually I hope to be a commercial and sport photographer, but for now I just want to learn everything I can through experience. I’ve had no formal teaching for photography, I’ve just learned through the critique and criticism of others via the internet. I’m a junior in high school, and I’ve been looking into attending college for photography.
So basically, I would just really appreciate some general critic, comments or suggestions for my portfolio. I'd like to point out that I'm not expecting a in depth analysis of my entire portfolio, I know that's asking way too much, just some general things I should work on or improve.

Thanks
And sorry if this is not allowed, I’ll edit if this is a problem.

p.1 #2 · general portfolio critique-One year in photography,
Welcome. Its a rare person that knows what they want to do at 16, so I am impressed.
You have some great pictures but it is difficult to expect people to read through pages and pages of pictures to provide feedback. So for best results
- Post 3 or less (less is better)
- provide exif data and filters and lens and tripod information
- ask a specific question
I like your hockey and paintball shots - you have their faces and expressions which is most important.
- some of your sport shots need cropping - the main subject should take up 2/3 of the frame (see 18 being tackled - would crop lots of top and bottom
- some of your shots have frame through hips - avoid joints/hips etc. (older men at vietnam memorial [same has too much reflectiion and crop through head] Same with girl and umbrella
- great capture on little girl on skate board in air
- great high jump - good eyes and emotion and stopping the action - I would crop off the red bar below
Overall some great shots but post just a few for feedback

Thank you kindly for that, I'll go back and fix the things you mentioned.
edit: I did what you said to a majority of them, deleted the football one because it is older. I think a reason behind a lot of the head and foot room was I had them cropped for prints, rather internet viewing, so a lot of things that suffered from a poor crop have been fixed. I also need to take my watermark out of some.
