Has anyone checked the Zeiss lenses for mirror clearance on the Canon 1Ds3? I have the Contax 21, and the Zeiss ZF 25, 28, 35 and 50, which work fine with the 5D, but am considering upgrading the the 1Ds3.
If the lenses work on the 5D they should have no problems on the 1DsMk3. I hvae not compared the mirror box of my 5D to my 1DsMk3, but have always heard that the mirror was larger on the 5D compared to the 1Ds series.
Also, I am not aware of any mirror clearance problems with any of the lenses you mention, so should be good to go on all.
Not once has there been an occurrence where a lens fit the 5D but not the 1Ds or 1Ds2. As already noted, if it fit a 5D, it'll work on the 1Ds-family. Here's a list of what fits and doesn't fit:
