p.1 #1 · CP-E2 Question...

Guys,
I'm grabbing a 580ex II flash this week to go along with the 550ex I've had, and basicly replace the 420ex flash. My question is this, will the Canon CP-E2 pack that I have been using with the 550ex, work with the 580ex I'm getting? I can't find anything online about it as it seems the CP-E2 is the older of the packs.

Thanks!

Yes. The only difference with the new battery pack is that it has rubber added to it for weatherproofing.

Not only this, Ryan.
CP-E2 is made for six batteries, CP-E3 and the sealed CP-E4 are made for 8 AAs. Puch is other (with a belt loop) than that from CP-E2. CP-E3 and 4 are longer than CP-E2 and both have a removable battery compartment.

Yep... Just realized I misread the model number. I was thinking CP-E3.

Thanks guys! Much appreciated. I've been happy with the CP-E2, maybe a future upgrade
